Members of The Rotary Club of Tagbilaran

Dear President Baby Bantol and Club Members

We have become aware of a number of anonymous emails that have been sent out to numerous persons in the Philippines, Australia, USA and the UK making defamatory statements and allegations about the operations of “The Village Aide Program” and a number of Rotarians associated with this program

It would now appear that these emails were sent by Evan Iliadis, a member of The Rotary Club of Tagbilaran

Furthermore, it would appear that Mr Iliadis has access to the website of The Rotary Club of Tagbilaran and that he has posted further defamatory statements about “The Village Aide Program” on this site

The board of “The Village Aide Program” strongly refutes the allegations made by Mr Iliadis and we are concerned that The Rotary Club of Tagbilaran has failed to take any action to remove these slanderess statements from their website and or refute the claims made in the emails sent by Mr Iliadis

The failure to take immediate action to remove such statements must therefore be viewed that the Board of The Rotary Club of Tagbilaran endorses the statement made by Mr Iliadis

We must therefore advise that if this is the case we will seek advice with the view to instigating legal proceedings against all parties involved including the Board of Rotary Club of Tagbilaran

If the Club does not support the views of Mr Iliadis then we require that your remove these statements from your website and post a disclaimers stating that your clubs does not support the views of Mr Iliadis

Furthermore, we would require that an email be sent by your club to all the parties that Mr Iliadis has sent emails to refuting his allegations and confirming that your Club does not support his views and or allegations

We would request your urgent attention to this matter, otherwise we will have no alternative but to instruct our Lawyer to instigate libel actions against all parties involved

We would also take this opportunity to inform your board and club members that Mr Iliadis has been terminated as a “Village Manger” under this program and will no longer have any association with “The Village Aide program” and he is no longer authorised to act in any capacity relating to this project

We trust that this situation can be resolved as soon as possible.
